Unframed (17" x 22")
Edition limited to 100
The most traditional of the work, this piece adheres closely to what is called the "Urnes" style. Van Berkom writes: "Creatures engage each other in a classic life and death struggle that is both elegant and passionate. Gliding into the battle are slim, arrow-like snakes whose bodies sprout leaves and tendrils. A Navajo once told me that in the desert snakes mean water is near; so perhaps these snakes symbolize the life blood of the struggle."
Each of the limited edition prints has been entirely handmade by the artist. The final printing, also hand done, was printed by the artist and a printer of limited edition silk screen works.
