"Palmer Station"
Watercolor framed size 16 x 20"
Price: $220
Palmer Station on Anvers Island is the primary base for scientific exploration on the Antarctic Peninsula. The base was established in 1965. In the Antarctic summer the population can be as many as 100 scientists, but only about ten people remain during the ferocious winters when the temperature plummets below -10 degrees fahrenheit and the wind howls continuously at 40 - 50 knots.
